Black Bear - Saskatchewan

Black bear hunting does not get much better anywhere – than in Saskatchewan! Strong population densities, low harvest numbers, endless habitat and an outfitter who knows how to put you onto a great trophy - that is Saskatchewan!

Have you ever hunted an animal that can move through the forest like smoke? Have you ever hunted where close means feet, not yards! Has your heart ever pounded as you drew your bow or placed the crosshairs on the biggest bruin that you have ever seen in your life! Have you ever run your hands through the richest, sleekest fur in the forest?

Hunting Black Bear in Saskatchewan is truly a wonderful experience. The forest is rejuvenating after the long winter, green grass and leaves start to appear and the air is at its freshest. Spring bear hunting is a special activity that combines relaxation with excitement – and more!

These black bear hunts are a true wilderness experience. The only access into hunting camp is with All Terrain Vehicles (ATV).  Most of the hunting is done by tree-stands. These hunts are conducted over bait to insure hunters success.

Their accommodations are top notch; warm cabins and lodgings set in the Saskatchewan north.  They serve excellent home-cooked meals, steam bath / bag shower room, the service always comes with a smile and, they can usually accommodate special needs diets.

The hunting season normally runs May and June. Every one of their clients has a radio and your guide will be in contact with you during the day to see if you need help, or have killed a bear.  Most stands are set for shots of 25 - 50 yards. 

They take great care and pride in setting up stands where you should be able to have time to judge and harvest your trophy. Each hunter (during fishing season) will have the opportunity to do some fishing.

Their color phase bears include black, chocolate, and cinnamon and a chance for some to have a white blaze spot on their chest.

Outfitter runs a great operation in all aspects and has been doing so for many years.

COST  6 Day Hunt $ 3,200 USD + 5% tax  , plus licenses approx $275. depending on exchange rate.

The 6-day hunting package includes guide, meals and accommodations

Clients fly to Saskatoon, where they will rent a car and make the  3-hour drive to hunting camp.

Bear hunting is actually 6 evenings ( Monday evening through Saturday evening ),arrival Monday noon and depart Sunday morning.
