Dall Sheep
Many believe sheep hunting to be the ultimate North American hunting
adventure, and pursuing the beautiful Dall’s sheep in the high country
of the N.W.T. may well be the best of the best. Considered part of the
thinhorn sheep family, along with the Stone’s sheep of Northern B.C.,
the Dall’s is characterized by a snow-white pelage, gracefully flared
horns and the pristine vistas it calls home. Sheep hunting isn’t for
all of us, as it demands stamina, strength and a somewhat sizeable wallet
(although Dall’s sheep hunts are largely acknowledged as the most affordable
of the genre). The town of Norman Wells is the jumping off point for hunting
sheep in the Mackenzie Mountains, the long-time hot spot for Dall’s sheep
aficionados. Hunters are treated to spectacular views and ample opportunities
to see moose, caribou, wolves, grizzly bears and wolverines as they climb
from broad valleys to the peaks of rugged mountains, often ascending as
high as 4,000 feet.
Hunt for world class

. With terrain ranging from Arctic Tundra and low rolling mountains to
rugged limestone peaks, a challenge awaits all hunters – no matter their level
of experience.
Our outfitters offer
10, 12 and 21 Day hunts. There are several ways to hunt for
your Dall sheep, by horseback, backpack,
ATV, riverboat and helicopters can be used in the NWT to transport hunters into
key locations and to ensure
even the most mature hunter has a safe, successful hunt.

July 15th to mid-September in conjunction with Mountain Caribou, Mountain Goat,
Wolf and Wolverine from July 25th and Moose from September 1st.
Depending
on which way a hunter wishes to hunt his Dall Sheep these hunts will run
from $ 19,000 to 20,000 USD and can be hunted as a stand alone
animal but Dall Sheep & Caribou makes for a great mixed bag hunt.
Moose in the NWT are much like that of the Alaska/Yukon variety and can be
hunted as well. |
